Igando Football Academy, IGFA, striker, Seun Makinwa and Anointed FC player, Inegbenoise Agbator have promised to win highest goal scorer award in the ongoing Prince Gas Cup taking place at Igando palace playground, Alimosho, Lagos.

Makinwa told Journalists on Tuesday that his target is to win the highest goal scorer and lift Prince Gas Cup with his teammates. Makinwa who was happy about his team’s performance boasted that scoring six goals in the three matches was as a result of hardwork and dedication.

“I have scored six goals in three matches and my target is to win the highest goal scorer award at the end of the tournament. It will be a huge disappointment if my team fail to reach the final stage. I want our fans to continue supporting us so that we can reach our target,” he said.

In his comment, Agbator, who scored five goals so far in the tournament prayed for injury free throughout the tournament so that he would achieve his dream.

Agbator whose performance was a delight to his fans in the group matches said he is not worried that Makinwa of IGFA scored six goals, what is paramount in his heart is to increase his goal haul in subsequent matches.

“It is too early to pick a player for highest goal scorer’s award now because the tourney is still in group stages. Although Makinwa is leading the scorer chart but I believe that I can overtake him in subsequent matches,” he said.

Chairman Organising Committee, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamonsi expressed satisfaction with the performance of all the participating teams saying that the quarter final matches will begin on Saturday.

Among the teams that qualified for the quarter final stage are Anointed FC, IGFA, Junior United and Yidi All Stars.
