The Director of Media and Publicity of the governorship candidate of Ebonyi State Labour Party (LP), Dr.  Chike Onwe has dumped the party and declared support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Dave Umahi.

This came on the heels of the overwhelming victory of the PDP in the March 28, 2015 presidential election and the National Assembly polls where the PDP won all the National Assembly seats in the state.

Onwe in a press conference in Abakaliki on Sunday noted that the state requires preparation and a well articulated programme of action and a man who can interpret the dynamics of the nation’s economic trend and the socio-political environment from the standpoint of Ebonyi reality.

He added that Umahi is a man with a good heart that feels and understands the various strata of the state and has enough and will to do something about it from his personal resources and their collective till if given the opportunity.

Onwe, who was the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation hinted “after a long look ahead, a searching look inwards, a wide look around and a far look upwards, I came to the conclusion that His Excellency, Engr. Dave Umahi, the deputy governor of Ebonyi state should be supported to win the election to occupy the seat of governor of Ebonyi state”.
