Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo is reportedly wanted on loan by French club Lille after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.

The Ligue 1 outfit is considering a move for the French forward and is ready to offer him regular first-team football in order to help his career take off.

The report claims that, Arsene Wenger has requested time to consider the offer before making a decision, but it is likely that he will be allowed to go, as Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck are ahead of him in the pecking order to play in the central strikers’ position.

Sanogo joined the Gunners from Auxerre during the summer of 2013, but has made just a handful of appearances for the club, as his debut season was blighted by injuries, while his second was spent on the sidelines due to the presence of Giroud and Welbeck, who were preferred by the manager.

The French U21 international struggled to get regular game time and was loaned out to Crystal Palace during this year’s January transfer window. Sanogo failed to make an impact for the Eagles, scoring just one goal in 11 appearances. He has since returned to the Emirates Stadium awaiting the manager’s decision regarding his future.

The report claims that a decision regarding the player’s loan will not be decided in a hurry by the French manager with the possibility of it going through being considered as 50-50.
