Lagos – Christian Chukwu, a former Super Eagles coach has charged the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) not to lose focus on the appointment of a “credible” coach for the team.
He gave the charge against the backdrop of the rejection of the Eagles job by Paul Le Guen.
According to him, “It’s still a rumour to me that Le Guen has rejected Super Eagles job and I don’t have details of the contract agreement to know why.
“However, I can only advise the NFF to get someone else if Le Guen rejects the offer, because NFF must focus to ensure it gets Nigeria a credible coach ahead qualifiers for the World Cup in Russia,” Chukwu said.
The NFF and the Frenchman failed to reach an agreement over the Eagles’ job.
A French newspaper L’Equipe, was quoted as saying Le Guen rejected Nigeria as the NFF was yet to meet the terms and conditions requested by the coach to work as the new Eagles handler.
