Lawmaker acquitted of murder case 13 years after

An All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Lagelu State constituency in the Oyo Assembly and member-elect for the seat of Akinyele/Lagelu Federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar, has been acquitted  of the 13-year-old murder case against him and one other person.

An Ogun State High Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, presided over by Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje, on Thursday, disposed off the two count charge of conspiracy to commit murder and murder against the Oyo Lawmaker and one Ajasa Balogun.

Delivering his ruling on the 13-year-old murder case, Justice Mabekoje discharged and acquitted the duo of the two-count charge.

However, speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on Friday on the court ruling, the member-elect for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal constituency thanked God for allowing truth to prevail after 13 years of darkness. He promised to give good representation to the people of Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
