The Lagos State House of Assembly has urged Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of the state to investigate the killing of the Managing Director of Lekki Free Zone Ltd, Tajudeen Disu by suspected hoodlums.
Disu was allegedly killed in Lekki Area of Lagos on Monday 12 October, 2015 on his way to make peace in the area over land issues.
Raising the issue of the death of Mr. Disu under urgent matter of public importance during plenary on Tuesday, Rotimi Olowo from Shomolu Constituency 1,  said that the death should be investigated and that the Nigerian Police should be called upon to fish out the killers of the deceased.
Supporting the matter, Segun Olulade from Epe Constituency 2 reminded the House that there is a pending bill on land grabbers (omo onile) in the House, and urged the Majority Leader of the House to see to the resuscitation of the Bill so that it could be passed into law.
He said further that the incident has been a recurring decimal and that efforts should be put in place to prevent further occurrence.
In his view, Moshood Oshun from Eti Osa Constituency 2 said that the incident was unfortunate, adding that the House should look beyond the death of Tajudeen Disu in discussing the matter.
“Disu was killed, while doing his job. By now, the Police should have fished out the killers of Disu. It is so bad that the ‘baale’ (local chief) of the area had the effrontery to say that they were fighting for their land even after the killing of Disu by suspected hoodlums.
In directing the Clerk of the House, Segun Abiru to write the Governor to find the killers of Tajudeen Disu, the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, added that a letter of condolence should be written to the family of the deceased.
