Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, has invited 15 foreign-based players for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Chad on June 8. However, the list does not include regulars like John Mikel Obi and Emmanuel Emenike.

Keshi was said to have dropped Mikel on account of “communication gap”, despite his winning the English Premier League with Chelsea, while the less-than-spectacular performance for his club, Fenerbahce, this season caused Emenike’s absence from the squad.

Players on the list include Vincent Enyeama, Ogenyi Onazi, Aaron Samuel, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, Kenneth Omeruo, Babatunde Michael, Rabiu Ibrahim, Leon Balogun, John Ogu, Steven Ukoh and Godfrey Oboabona.

There are also players new to the squad, such as William Troost-Ekong, Kingsley Madu and Anderson Esiti.
