A comprehensive security plan that will bring to an end, reported cases of killings in Kaduna State will soon be put in place.

This was the position of the state Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, in a recent statement in the state.

The statement issued by Samuel Aruwan, Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, stated that the government condemns the recent killings in parts of the state.

While expressing its sympathy with the victims, the government disclosed that a series of comprehensive measures are being designed to tackle the problem and secure sustainable peace across the state.

According to reports, unknown gunmen had on Wednesday, June 17, attacked and killed about 13 persons and injured 15 others during the early hours of the day in Katsak and Ungwan Danborno villages in the Jema’a and Birnin Gwari local government areas of the state.

Aruwan disclosed that the Governor who received the news with great sadness and grief, restated his determination to work with the security agencies and the judiciary in order to bring to an end the epidemic of killings and the impunity that feeds it.

“The government is working to contain the killings and criminal acts menacing Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Kaura, Sanga, Jema’a and Zangon Kataf local government areas.

“Our hearts go to the injured and the families of the bereaved and we pray for God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

“We have accordingly briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the security challenges and he is supportive of the measures being designed to address them.”
