Kaduna Commends Air Force For Commitment To Fighting Insurgency

Governor Ahmad Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State has expressed gratitude to the Nigeria Air Force for its partnership in the struggle to eliminate insurgency in the State.

Nasir El-Rufai made this known at the funeral service of one of the victims of the recent plane crash late Mrs. Ruth Numdhn Nuhu Hassan at the Nigeria Air Force Protestant Church Air Force Base Kaduna on Wednesday.

The deceased, late Mrs. Ruth Hassan was the wife of an Air Force Officer, Wing Commander NS Hassan, was buried at the Armed Forces Cemetery along Muhammadu Buhari Way.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, promised to continue to work, support and enjoy the partnership with the Nigerian Air Force, adding that this moment the State is concerned with about the safety of the air space.

El-Rufai emphasised on the training of the pilots as the crash could be as a result of any fault and hoped that the investigation into the crash would give the Federal and State Government the opportunity to know in what areas to contribute to make air travel safer to the public.

In the quest to sanitize the state of insurgency, according to the Kaduna state Governor, the Air Force has been very handy in dealing fatal blows on the insurgents within the Birnin Gwari area.

The Governor stated that the State government would not have been able to achieve this without the support of the Nigerian Air Force, describing the death of the victims of the plane crash as unfortunate, sad and a State disaster.

Mallam El-Rufai who is on an official trip outside the Country commiserated with the members of the families of the victims of the crash and, the Nigeria Air Force and prayed that God in his infinite mercy would grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Nigerian Air Force-NAF Dornier-228 aircraft had penultimate Saturday morning, crashed into a house at Ribadu Cantonment Kaduna, without any survivors among the passengers on board.
