U.S. President, Barrack Obama, has taken too far the recent United States Supreme Court judgment legalizing the same sex marriage.

The Parish Priest of St John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, Asaba Delta State, Rev Fr Chukwuekwu Nwutu, stated this during a sermon, maintaining that forcing it on other nations through assistance in any form is uncalled for.

Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria (CLCN), the apex body of Catholic Lay Group in Nigeria, has also described it as barbaric, saying it has set a wrong precedence which should not be followed by other countries especially developing nations bent on preserving their cultural values.

Taking his sermon from Mark 6; 7-13, with the title ‘’He Began to Send Them Out’’ he said it is not African, immoral and would be totally impossible for such marriage to become parents except through other artificial methods.

Rev. Fr. Nwutu called for repentance, stressing, “since it is not the will of God that we get lost and have to do everything possible to do away with those things that can frustrate us from the will of God.”

Meanwhile, CLCN, has said that the notion of the same sex marriage was an aberration, abnormal to African sensibilities and offensive to the norms of any decent society, revealing that the council was in agreement with the Nigeria Law Reform Commission that homosexuality was an acquired habit that ought to be eradicated and not transformed into an acceptable human conduct by law.
