Jubilation in Ibadan over victory

Residents of Sabo in Mokola area of Ibadan in Ibadan North Local Government area of Oyo State trooped out in wild jubilation over the victory of Mohammed Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last Saturday Presidential election.

The Sabo residents, mainly Hausa or better still northerners began the celebration by shouting ‘Sai Buhari’?.

The celebrants, mainly youths and school children also expressed their happiness by throwing bangers which drew attention of people around Mokola main road to them.

Some people in far places wer?e even calling their relatives and friends in and around the place to find out what exactly was happening because the news had gone round the city that there was ‘shooting’ around the place.

Speaking with our reporter, one of the jubilant residents, Hassan Awwal, said they could not wait till the end of the announcement by Jega because the ones declared so far had put him in clear lead and nothing could stop him from being announced as the winner of the election.

According to him “what else are we waiting for my brother? Buhari don win the election or are you saying Jonathan can overtake him with the remaining results wh?en announced? It is not possible, please join the celebration “.

Shops were closed early while people with no specific need to stay out long rushed home early to be in their comfort zone ahead of when the final announcement would be made.
