What Jonathan Said At Thanksgiving Service

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday bid goodbye to worshippers in the Aso Rock Villa Chapel, praying that the incoming administration would continue from where he stopped.

The President said this at a thanksgiving service in his honour, to commemorate his time in the chapel while in office; the first family bid farewell to the congregation, whom they asked to forgive them if they had erred or failed in any way during their time in office.

It also meant to serve as a handover service to the incoming Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who was, however, not present at the event.

On her part, the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, who confessed that she never dreamt of becoming a first lady, said she was grateful to God that she had been completely and miraculously healed from an ailment that made her undergo surgical operations four times in a German hospital, which, according to her, happened immediately after her husband lost the presidential election on March 28.

The chaplain, Venerable Obioma Onwuzurumba, said that he would miss the friendly nature of the first family and he was sure that this would be the same feeling for other members of the congregation, whose lives the first family touched in one way or the other.
