President Goodluck Jonathan arrived his Otuoke country home at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday to participate in the state Houses of Assembly election in Bayelsa State.
Curiously, he was not accompanied by his wife, Dame Patience and his mother, Eunice unlike previous elections.
Reports had indicated that Patience was in Okrika, her community in Rivers State, to oversee the elections.
She  has not visited her husband’s home state since he lost in the March 28 presidential election to APC’s Muhammadu Buhari.
Like in other local government areas of the state, a  very low turn-out of voters was recorded in the polling units across Ogbia communities.
Jonathan, however, submitted himself for accreditation by the INEC officials at his polling unit 039, Ward 13, Ogbia Constituency I, and got credited at 11:05 a.m.
Fielding questions from journalists, the President remarked that the voter apathy in the state was expected because governorship election was not taking place in the state.
Jonathan explained that different levels of elections attract different levels of mobilisation.
“In Bayelsa State, there is no governorship election. That’s why there’s low turn-out.
“We expect low turn-out where there’s no governorship election”, he said.
On his expectations on PDP’s performance in the governorship and state Houses of elections, Jonathan expressed optimism that “the PDP will do well in some states”.
