Godwin Izilein, former Super Falcons coach, has thrown his weight behind Evelyn Nwabuoku’s move to Swedish Women’s League.
The Edo State Football Academy consultant opined that the move would give her the opportunity to improve her economy even as age is no more on her side.
“Sweden is a good move for Evelyn; the economy there is good and the football facilities there are equally good. I love her courage, because she needs to improve her economy in an environment where the atmosphere is favourable.
“Again, you can see she is not getting any younger and if such opportunity comes, you take it. I love people who have passion in their calling,” Izilein explained.
However, the contract fee for the 30-year-old midfielder who joined the Swedish outfit after a season in the Kazakhstan Women Premier League Champions, Biik Kazygurt, was not disclosed.
The former Rivers Angels player, who came to prominence at the 2004 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Thailand, led the Super Falcons to the 2014 African Women’s Championship title and also featured at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
She becomes the third Falcons’ star to change team after the duo of Tochukwu Oluehi and Cecilia Nku joined Norwegian side Medkila few days ago.
