Benin – Chief Dan Orbih, Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday described Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s candidature as the political redeemer of Edo people, calling on the voters in the state to stand behind him.

Chief Orbih who was reflecting on the party’s flag-off which, he described as ground breaking ceremony that shook the Edo State capital to its foundation last Monday, said that the choice of Ize-Iyamu to return PDP to power in Edo State was because the party membership was fully conscious of the cries of the people, especially the plight of teachers and the army of unemployed youths.

Chief Orbih said that Ize-Iyamu as the governorship candidate of PDP is aimed at redeeming Edo people, including the youths, women, teachers, pensioners and the unemployed.

“They should be rest assured that come November 2016 with a PDP governor in office, the change that will enhance Edo fortunes will be enthroned,” he said.

He also said the party would win the September 10, 2016 election because the present APC government led by Governor Adams Oshiomhole has deceived the people for long and needs to be shown the way out of the government House in Benin City.

“I am calling on Edo people to come out en masse on September 10 to vote for the PDP because Edo State needs a person like  Ize-Iyamu this time around to breadth life into the state once again.

“If Ize-Iyamu is elected he will bring about a change that will not deepen the poverty in our state or perpetuate unemployment in our land but one that will create jobs and support intervention in agriculture, industries, the economy and regard for the traditional institutions and persons with disabilities.

“PDP-controlled government will develop all parts of Edo State, it will not restrict itself to schools and roads alone but restore the lost glory of Edo State and give scholarships and bursary to indigent students in tertiary institutions of learning, among others,” he stated.
