Benin – The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, on Wednesday declared that his party will control government in Edo from November 12, 2016 and will wipe away the tears of Owan people, promising to transform the people and their land for better living standard.

He said the people of Owan who have suffered untold neglect despite voting massively for Governor Adams Oshiomhole on two separate occasions in the past will use their votes wisely this time around.

Ize-Iyamu, who disclosed this while speaking at Uzebba and Sabobgidda-Ora in Owan West Local Government Area during his campaign tour to the area, also said it is obvious that for Governor Oshiomhole Owan is no longer part of Edo North hence his decision to concentrate all his efforts on his village, Iyamho.

The Edo PDP gubernatorial candidate described as sheer wickedness the total neglect of Owan people politically and economically by the government of Oshiomhole and promised to focus his attention on proper development of the locality if he gets elected.

At Uzebba, Ize-Iyamu said, “The Uzebba General Hospital which is bereft of doctors and other health personnel will be upgraded to modern standard to enable it take care of the mass population in the area”.

“It is a pity that such a general hospital that caters for a large population still uses candles to do surgeries at night and has no water or electricity yet the government claims it spent billions on health care delivery”, he said.

Ize-Iyamu promised that a PDP controlled government will tar the Uzebba and Okpujie township roads which have been abandoned just as he promised to employ more teachers and make work well.

While describing Owan West as a very special agricultural area, the PDP candidate promised that agriculture will thrive once again in the area as his government will provide working tools and incentives to farmers as well as empower the women to adequately take care of their families.

He also promised to provide gainful employment for youths in the area as well as give them scholarship and bursary to ensure that they are adequately taken care of in their schools.

Also addressing the rally, Edo State PDP Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, asked the APC governorship candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki as head of Oshiomhole’s Economic Team to tell Edo people why the industries that were set up by the previous administration like Edo Line, Bendel Brewery, Bendel Insurance are today moribund.

“Obaseki should explain to Edo people how many people were employed by Governor Oshiomhole in the last seven and a half years, as well as how many teachers were employed and how many youths were empowered rather than deceiving Edo people with a promise to create 200, 000 jobs,” Orbih said.
