A former Minister of Information, Chief Tony Momoh has advised former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki to seek redress in a court of law if he feels his privacy was infringed upon by last week’s invasion of his house by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Momoh,  a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) also absolved President Muhammadu Buhari from  Dasuki’s ordeal and the invitation of the former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former president Goodluck Jonathan , Gordon Obua.

According to him, the security agents are doing the job without any undue interference from any quarters.

While faulting Dasuki’s claim that he was being victimized,  Momoh who spoke in a chat with Daily Independent on Tuesday added that the security agents have a right to search  the former NSA’s house  since they have a search warrant  to do so.

“If the security agents have any warrant of search, then they have a right to search Dasuki’s house. Nobody is above the law.  Nobody can stop them. But to resist them from carrying out their assignment is an offence”.

“How can he say he is being victimised?  They said they found vehicles in his house, they also found rifles in his house. Is that victimization?  Is he saying somebody planted the vehicles and rifles in his house?  I don’t know why people won’t look at facts in the face and pronounce them”.

“Was he a member of the PDP?  He was a public officer. But if he thinks that his privacy is being infringed, then he should go to court. But I don’t see how anyone can say his privacy is being infringed when the security agents have warrant of search”.

“Impunity will no longer be accommodated in this new dispensation.  Let everybody answers his father’s name.  If you engage in acts that the security agents want to know about, cooperate with them and explain yourself”.  The security agents said there were about five armoured plated vehicles and then rifles. all these were not in the handing over note. How will you say you come about these things? If you have any explanation to make them, explain and stop whipping up sentiments”.

“I hope nobody is thinking it was President Buhari who gave the order for the search to be conducted.  The president has absolutely nothing to do with it” he said.
