The Police Assistance Committee (PAC) has urged the new Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, to bring in innovations that will improve the performance and standard of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

In statement released in Lagos on Thursday, May 14, 2015, made available to Daily Independent, the PAC Director General, Dr. Martins John-Oni, also urged Arase to be a team player.

He advised Arase to embrace community policing in addressing the problems of crime prevention, as the strategy is the most modern way of confronting crime globally.

John-Oni, while hailing Arase’s appointment as well deserved, recalled that the new IGP had acquired a wealth of experience having served as Personal Staff Officer (PSO) under three past IGPs, before his elevation to the Head of Intelligence Unit in the Force, where he had equally performed creditably.

He expressed confidence in Arase’s ability and professional standing to perform effectively and optimally in his new assignment. The PAC pledged that the organisation would continue to support the Nigeria Police Force through information dissemination and intelligence gathering as it had been doing in the last two decades, in the bid to prevent and combat crime in the country.
