LAGOS – Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Football Club of Lagos is depleted with injuries ahead of its week 18 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match against IfeanyiUba this afternoon.

This is even as the Odukoya Boys are further depleted by national U-23 invitation preparing for the Rio Olympic Games.

Fidelis Illechukwu, coach of the Lagos-based side, according to information from the MFM camp, was worried over injuries to some key players, and others’ invitation to national team.

“There are a lot of lapses in our team due to injury and we’ve got to find a solution to this set back. As I’m talking to you, I’m very worried even though we got a win over Niger Tornadoes,” he said.

The duo of Stanley Okorom and Erhun Obanor could not feature for MFM against Tornadoes on Monday as they had to honour Samson Siasia’s invitation for the U-23 camp, while others have been hit with varied degrees of injuries.

Consequently, the coach said that the technical crew would take a decisive stand to salvage the situation, even as some of the players are itching for good playing time.

“Though a couple of players have complained of not getting enough playing time, we the coaches are taking a closer look at the players.

“Some of them really want to show what they’ve got, but they’ve still not shown the quality we want. But, we just have to encourage them to do more.”
