Indonesian execution: No more visitors for convicts

The nine convicts awaiting execution for drug trafficking in Indonesia will no longer receive visitors from local time on Tuesday.

The convicts, including four Nigerians, are expected to be executed by midnight, as international pleas for their reprieve have so far fell on deaf ears.

Already, ambulances have conveyed coffins to the prison, while the convicts are now on isolation cells, awaiting the zero hour for their execution by firing squad.

Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop are considering all options – including the dramatic step of recalling the country’s Ambassador to Indonesia – in a sign of growing fury at the looming executions of Bali nine duo Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan.
