Kogi, Rivers and Benue have been identified by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, as the three most problematic states during the inauguration of the new government.

He, however, promised to deploy personnel massively to the states in the next 48 hours to curb the crime rate and also ensure peaceful transition of government on May 29, 2015.

Arase  disclosed this during a meeting with top police officers including Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs),  Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in Abuja on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

The meeting, the IGP said, was convened to assess the success of special operations embarked upon by the police in Edo and Ekiti states in the last two weeks and to also map out strategies to ensure a hitch-free inauguration of elected leaders at both the federal and states on Friday.
