Human Rights Activist and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Mr. Ralph Nwanebu, has raised the alarm over alleged plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the much awaited Imo North (Okigwe Zone) senatorial district re-run.

Nwanebu, a lawyer, in an interview with journalists in Owerri, claimed that the National Leadership of the (APC) was bent on foisting the senatorial candidate of the party, Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu, on the electorate as its South-East representative in the nation’s upper legislative chamber.

This, he said, was despite the obvious lack of credibility and acceptability of Uwajumogu who according to him performed abysmally as a Speaker of the State House of Assembly between 2011 and 2015.

“Uwajumogu was the number one lawmaker in the state when seven permanent secretaries of Okigwe zonal extraction were sacked by governor Rochas Okorocha on trumped up charges without being replaced by people from our zone,” he said.

Nwanebu who is the Chairman of the PDP in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the State extolled the PDP Candidate for the re-scheduled poll.

“Instead of job, job, job, factory, factory, factory, industry, industry, industry it has been sack, sack, sack in Imo since 2011 till date by governor Rochas Okorocha, unlike ex-governors Achike Udenwa and Ikedi Ohakim who created jobs for the youths. The APC is full of deceit and Imo people have come to realize this,” he noted.
