Lagos – Nwankwo Kanu, former Super Eagles captain, has showered encomium on Kelechi Iheanacho, Eagles and Manchester City striker for his superlative performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Iheanacho was a handful to the Manchester United defenders, capping his good form with a goal and an assist in City’s 2-1 derby win over the host.

Taking to his twitter handle on Sunday, the former Eagles captain extolled the Manchester City forward, saying he was proud of the player.

“Wonder boy Ihenacho scored again. I am proud of him and he keeps scoring.”

Kanu said that he was not surprise on the rise of the player under new manager, reiterating that Iheanacho was and still is meant for greatness.

The former Taye Academy player scored City’s winning goal after he tapped in a rebound from Kevin De Bruyne shot, which hit the post. He had earlier provided the assist for Bruyne, which resulted to the first goal.
