Those who expect Vincent Enyeama, former Super Eagles captain, to rescind his decision of quitting the international stage following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh as coach of the team would be disappointed.
This is because the player will not rescind his earlier stand of quitting the Super Eagles for good.
The player, we learnt informed the team’s interim coach, Samson Siasia that he was not ready to rescind his decision.
He said that a return to the national team was not on the cards, adding that he does not want to talk about the issue again.
Enyeama, pulled the curtain on his international career, 13 years after making his debut for the Super Eagles, on October 8, 2015 after a fractured relationship with then coach, Sunday Oliseh.
The goalkeeper had arrived at the Eagles’ training camp in Belgium late having had an agreed extra time off following the death of his mother.
However, he arrived to find he had been stripped of the captaincy, which had instead been handed to Ahmed Musa.
“I don’t want to talk about this issue again. I think my earlier decision stands,” Enyeama told BrilaFm.
Also Emmanuel Emenike has also told the team handlers to forget him as he had quit the team for good.
The striker, who left the team under questionable circumstances said,”I am done with the Super Eagles, and I’m making it clear again that I am not going back. It is my decision and I am not going to reverse it. I am sorry if I had offended anybody regarding this.”
He added: “I did not quit because of anybody, it was a personal decision. Oliseh didn’t force me out of the Super Eagles as it was reported. I don’t need anybody to speak with me before I take a decision. It was my decision and I won’t reverse it.”
