Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji has assured residents of the state, that they will never regret electing the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Akinwunmi Ambode, as the next governor of the state, promising that he would take the state to the next level of sustainable socio-economic and human development.

Speaking on Tuesday, the Speaker  said “as you all know, what has been the staying-power of our great state in the last 16 years has been the superb professionalism with which our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu laid a very solid foundation  between 1999 and 2007 before handing over power to the actualiser, Babatunde Fashola, whom successfully built on his achievements.

“I can assure all the good people of Lagos State today that the future of our dear state under Ambode, our Governor-elect will witness greater level of development in all areas, now that our great party, that will be forming the in-coming federal government of Nigeria,”  said Ikuforiji, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Adebayo.

“No longer shall Lagos State be treated with so much needless hatred as done in the last 16 years by the Federal Government led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). No longer shall our state be denied her rights and privileges under Akinwunmi Ambode as witnessed under Asiwaju Tinubu and Fashola while the reign of the PDP lasted in Abuja.

“No longer shall agencies of the Federal Government be deployed to distort the peace of Lagos and Lagosians through the deployment of thugs to disrupt the free flow of traffic on roads regarded by them as belonging to the Federal Government in Lagos State.

“And no longer shall Lagos be denied all the refunds of the several billions of our tax payers’ money here that was spent on damaged Federal Government roads.”

No longer shall our state be denied the necessary waivers that we urgently need from the Federal Government to actualise all pro-people developmental projects as witnessed while the rule of the PDP lasted,” the statement reads in part.
