Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s passion for service to Abia people, his doggedness and courage  and his inspirational obsession despite the distractions of the Appeal court Ruling  has been described as the hallmark of a good leader

Chief Press secretary to the Governor, Mr Godwin Adindu who stated this in a press briefing in his office noted that what should have caused a low morale and dampens the spirit of a leader has come to be a source of strength to him.

According to him, the Governor is committed to providing Abians with dividends of democracy despite obvious threat, pointing out that the regime of projects and road constructions have continued unabated despite the distractions of the Appeal court Ruling.

He stated that for the Governor, his covenant with Abia people remains constant, adding that this period has been a time of consolidation of earlier achievements and the opening up of new frontiers.

Mr Adindu who disclosed that the state government is currently handling a total of 47 road projects scattered across the state and 2 bridges some of which have been commissioned added that there are plans between the Abia  state government and Akwa Ibom state to rehabilitate their shared federal Roads.

The Chief Press Secretary said that under the zero tolerance to potholes of the government old roads are constantly being asphalted and resurfaced by the state road management agency in Aba and Umuahia.

He disclosed that the Government is concluding plans to launch the construction work on the Abia industrial clusters starting with Aba, and disclosed that the Aba industrial cluster will involve 40,000 shoemakers who are capable of producing 1,000 shoes daily.

The Governor’s spokes person revealed that a special purpose initiative to restore sanity to all markets in the state,adding that there is an on-going war Against street trading in Aba and relocation of traders to new sites.
