As part of activities lined up to celebrate his 100 days in office, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has commissioned two electricity projects installed by the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Commission (ASOPADEC) in Awom Ukwu,  Ikwuano LGA  and Ntigha in Isialangwa NorthLocal Government Area (LGA).

Commissioning the projects,  the governor said his administration is for service, adding that  the power  will create jobs for the youths and bring prosperity to the benefitting communities.

He decried the poor state of road in Ikwuano and assured that the issue would be tackled, disclosing that the Federal Government has asked states to articulate the state of infrastructure with a view to

tackling them.

He said that he has three options of doing the Road – the Federal Government doing it, contributing half the funds or the Federal Government permitting Abia government to do the road and then submit the bill to it for  refund.

In their separate speeches,  the transition committee chairman of Ikwuano LGA,  Clement Onukwuo, and his Islala Ngwa North counterpart, Ginger Onwusibe thanked the governor for completing the projects

within his first 100 Days in office and requested for more from the government in the area of road and market development.

In his remark, the chairman ASOPADEC, Emeka Stanley said the commission was happy to have completed the assignment in line with the governor’s  directive and called on the benefitting communities to protect the property.
