It was a beehive of human traffic in Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday, October 3, as Glo subscribers trooped into Water Parks Hotel on Toyin Street, to witness the funniest comedy show in the country, Glo Laffta Fest, sponsored by National telecommunications operator, Globacom.

The Ikeja edition of the comedy show, which is currently touring major cities across the country, recorded a massive turnout of Glo subscribers who had long waited for the arrival of the Glo Laffta Fest train in Ikeja, from Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Guests were seen arriving the Water Parks Hotel in droves with excitement, garbed in smart casual apparels and taking photographs before the large Glo backdrop. Music oozed from the large speakers produced by DJ Spinall as the guest took their seats in the auditorium which was well lit with sophisticated lighting equipment.

Up and coming comedians and artistes including Baba Kay, L.A, Omini, SLK, ATM, Thelma, Tupengo, Dice and Liquidman set the ball rolling with rib-cracking jokes and musical performances which elicited cheers from the audience.

Then came the superstar comedians and artistes. The dexterity with which AY who anchored the show, announced the comedians kept the audience in suspense. The transition between Funnybone, Senator, Gandoki, Okey Bakassi, Buchi, Acapella and Bash kept the audience glued to their seats.

Diva Di’ja’s performance was exhilarating. Her sonorous voice filled the air as she performed her hit track, ‘Awww’.

In his welcome address during the event, Globacom’s Business Director, Akin Adebisi said “as a business enterprise which believes strongly in empowering its subscribers, we have decided henceforth to give all our subscribers more of everything we do. These include more rewards, more shows and the best experience they can ever get from any network. It is therefore our joy tonight to give you this great show”.

He urged the guests to keep on using Glo as the company was committed to meeting their expectations at all times.  He announced that the Glo Laffta Fest train continues to move and will berth at Ibadan next Sunday. Mr. Adebisi added that subscribers who wish to attend the show in Ibadan, Edgeda, Ijebu Ode and Abuja can still do so by using up to N3,000 before the show and sending ‘LOL’ and preferred location of the show to “33001”. For example, ‘LOL IBADAN’ to 33001.

Laffta Fest was launched by Globacom to bring fun and entertainment to millions of subscribers on its network across the country. The next show will hold on October 11, 2015, in Ibadan.
