Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has promised to embark on employment generation and human capital development if elected governor.

This, he said, would pave the way for empowerment of various segments of the population of the state through constructive policies in the areas of agriculture, industrialisation, entrepreneurship and considerable recruitment into the state public service in addition to volunteer services. In a 10-point policy thrust  made available to the electorate in Owerri, Ihedioha listed the highlights of the employment generation package to include: creation of 2,74,500 employments in  the first two years of his administration.

He  assured that this would pave the way to 135 manufacturing activities localised in the 27 local government areas of the state as well as  the empowerment of 15 youths from each of the 305 wards of the state for specific training that would  amount to 4,575 entrepreneurial skills yearly. As Governor, Ihedioha said, he would equally provide qualitative free education at all levels through  aggressive training and  re-training  of teachers to enhance their skills and competence.
