Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo and Kelechoi Iheanacho, were their club heroes on Saturday as they scored the goals that gave their clubs, Watford and Manchester City wins on Saturday.

Iheanacho, who made his debut against Watford a fortnight ago, came off the bench to tap into the net for the only goal of the match at Selhurst Park.

An elated Iheanacho said after the match that he was delighted to have scored the goal that ensured the team picks the three points.

“It’s great match for me and I’m happy the coach gave me the opportunity to prove myself. Palace is a good team and I am glad to score a goal which ensured we pick the three points.”

Also Ighalo was on the score sheet as Watford defeated Swansea 1-0 on Saturday. It was Ighalo’s second goal of the campaign in the Barclays Premier League.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has expressed his delight following Mikel Obi’s first start of the season for Chelsea in Saturday’s 3-1 Premier League defeat against Everton at Goodison Park.

Oliseh wrote on his Twitter handle that he was happy that the midfielder got a starting shirt.

“Happy for John Obi Mikel as he starts for Chelsea.”

Since the start of the new season, Mikel has only featured in a handful of games for the EPL champions.
