A Lagos based Lawyer  Barrister Job Patrick Aigbovbiose has warned the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chief John Odigie Oyegun, not to undermine the agitation of the people of Edo Central to have one of their own at the Edo State Government house in the next dispensation.
Apparently reacting to a statement credited to Chief Oyegun where he was quoted to have said that there will be no zoning in APC gubernatorial nomination/election in Edo State stressing that the statement was unfortunate, misplaced and should be condemned by all lovers of democracy not only in Edo State, but also in the federation.

Speaking further, the visibly angry Lawyer said that zoning or de-zoning is not a matter of preference of one man or a group of people; rather it is a constitutional matter.
He stressed that Edo North and Edo South senatorial zones have benefited from the zoning arrangements why must Edo Central Senatorial now be deprived of their constitutional right to present a candidate for the gubernatorial election?
”We think that what is sauce for the goose is goose should be sauce for the gander. The truth of the matter is that Edo Central Senatorial zone has to take its turn in governing the state”
He noted that those gubernatorial aspirants that are now singing the tune of de-zoning when it is a known fact that they have been apostles of zoning  are  engaged in double speak stressing that it is an irony if you approbate and be disapprobate at the same time.
He wondered why Oyegun who is now an apostle of de-zoning is himself a beneficiary of the zoning policy of the APC that zoned its chairmanship to the South-South.
His words: “If the statement credited to him by Barrister Kenneth Imasuagbon in his interview published in the Saturday February 6th 2016 edition is anything to go by, it means that Chief Oyegun himself stands disqualified and should not remain in office one day more”
According to him, the zone have some of the best brains in the country who are best managers of men and materials, as well as it is blessed with mobilizers, organizers, bridge-builders and administrators.
