Ifeanyi Ubah Splashes Cash To Escape Fan’s Mob

Businessman Ifeanyi Ubah, owner of Premier League side, Ifeanyi Ubah FC, on Wednesday  escaped being  mobbed by excited fans of the club, who watched the Awka based clubside demolish Taraba FC 4-2 to move to the next stage of the Federation Cup, thanks to bundles of cash he threw into the air at Area 3 Garki Football pitch in Abuja.

The excited fans had blocked the exit gate of the ground as whistle sounded signifying end of hostilities, and made to prevent movement of dignitaries out of the grounds.

Sensing danger, and possible activities of pickpockets, the oil marketer threw some bundles of N500 naira notes into the air. As the fans rushed for the money, Ubah quickly dashed into his four wheel drive and was followed by other dignitaries, among them Coaches Samson Siasia, Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Amuneke , Garba Lawal and host of others that include officials of NFF.

Earlier, Ubah reiterated the goal of the club this season to win either the Premier League or the Federations Cup, saying the victory over Taraba was a good step toward achieving the objective.

He hailed the management of the League Management Company, the NFF and Nigeria referees for improvement witnessed this season in the domestic league.

Restating his avowed commitment to football he said Ifeanyi Ubah FC has come to stay adding that the  18-seated stadium under construction in his native Anambra State will be ready for use next year.

“Work is going on as week speak, we are rounding off the filling the pitch. The equipment, the turf are all coming into the country and the civil Engineering works are going on very well. Hopefully by the grace of God, by the middle of next year we would be having the first privately owned standard stadium in use in the country”, he assured.
