Ibadan Mega Trade Fair To Host Over 500 Exhibitors

No fewer than 500 exhibitors and an average of 300,000 quality buyers are being expected to participate in a 13-day Trade Fair holding in Ibadan during which 13 different sectors of the trade sector will be involved.

The Trade Fair, a joint initiative of the government of Oyo State, Oyo State Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OYCCIMA) and Mega Trade Fair, which is tagged ‘Ibadan 2015’ is slated for 1st to 13th December this year at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (former Liberty Stadium) in the state capital.

President of Mega Trade Fair, Delight Owoyemi, who briefed the media on the marketing event on Tuesday at the Oyo State Permanent Trade Fair Complex (EXPOYO), Sango, Ibadan, said the event featuring 13 different expos and exhibitions would stand out as specialized one throughout Year 2016 and years after.

With the theme ‘Exploring The New Ibadan’, Owoyemi disclosed that part of the objectives of the event “is to successfully stage a world class trade exhibition in Ibadan, Oyo State where all stakeholders will put behind their differences and for once be objective in writing Oyo State in the economic hall of fame.”

Insisting that this year’s edition of the trade fair is going to be truly bigger, brighter and so much better than previous efforts, the Mega Trade Fair boss said the event would also create the much needed opportunities for economically disadvantaged manufacturers, business owners to meet their economic desires.

He also disclosed that the event would enhance good commercial relations among industrialists and the general public and would create platform for job creation, employment opportunities, capacity building and mentoring of the unemployed youths in the state.

At the media parley, which had in attendance representatives of some participating banks, the Vice President of OYCCIMA, Abel Ojelabi, Head, Regional Investment Advisory and Asset Bureau of Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN), Femi Ogundero, among others, Owoyemi said it would give chance to exhibitor to promote brand loyalty via technology displays, hospitality and networking events.

He added that exhibitor would be exposed to opportunity to use the fair as a veritable tool to carry out market activation in Ibadan through strong brand building environment via product demonstrations, seminars, conferences and sponsorship opportunities.
