HOSTCOM Uvwie Chapter Inaugurates New Executives

Ughelli – Host communities of Nigeria, Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), in the Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, yesterday, inaugurated new executives to pilot the affairs of the Uvwie HOSTCOM for years to come.

In his speech during the inauguration ceremony held at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, Chief Vevakpor Francis, HOSTCOM chairman, Delta Central, said the Urhobo nation has loosed out her valuable resources in many areas and it is becoming unbearable.

He tasked the new Uvwie HOSTCOM executives to take their call of duty as a call to work harder and move the HOSTCOM forward.

He urged them to checkmate the activities of the refinery and advised their people against blowing-up oil and gas pipelines.

Chief Paul Oseruvwoja and Deaconess Akpode Igho in their related speeches, charged the new executives to take their duties serious and ensure that all communities in Uvwie are carried along. They urged them to work seriously to bring the dividend of oil to the grass roots.

They advised indigenes of Uvwie to educate their children against blowing-up of oil pipelines, but should urge them to channel their grievances through dialogue with the Federal Government.

In his acceptance, Chief George Okomoba, new chairman of Uvwie HOSTCOM, promised to work with his executives to achieve the objective of HOSTCOM in their locality.

He added that he would work diligently for the dividend of HOSTCOM to come their people, assuring that oil and gas facilities would be protected against vandals and criminals.
