Residents of Ungwan Boro in Chikun Local Government were gripped with fear over the weekend when youths said to be numbering up to fifty, attacked three white garment churches, leaving two persons critically wounded.

An eye witness said the hoodlums struck around 5pm when some worshipers were praying in their respective local churches.

Speaking to Independent, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Zubairu Abubakar, confirmed the incident and disclosed that one Akim Samuel of ECWA Church has been arrested in connection with the attack.

The PPRO also confirmed the death of 20-year-old ThankGod Peter, who went to Ferroro river with his friend to swim and got drowned in the process shortly before the attack.

His corpse according to him has been taken to the mortuary while investigation continues.

Efforts, he said have been intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects for full scale investigation.

Founder, Redemption Hill Church, Prophetess Juliana Adebayo said the miscreants were chasing out people from the nearby prayer mountain with iron rod and other deadly weapons; brutalizing anyone at sight and in the process broke into her church where about N250, 000 cash and other valuables including phones, were carted away.
