One of the daughters of the late HID Awolowo, Mrs. Omotola Oyediran has hinted that one of the descendants of the late Premier of Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, will one day emerge as the president of Nigeria.

Mrs. Oyediran who disclosed further that she used to pray fervently for the dream to come through added that though she stopped the prayer at a stage when it appeared the dream was unrealistic. She stated that the death of Mama which has attracted many people to Ikenne, has further strengthened her conviction that in not too distant future, an Awolowo descendant will rule the country.

She stated this while playing host to some eminent Nigerians who have continued to troop to Ikenne country home of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo to commiserate with the family over the death Mrs. Hannah Idowu Dideolu who passed on last Saturday.

Some of the eminent personalities who came calling yesterday included the chairman of Yoruba Council of Elders, (YCE) General Adeyinka Adebayo (rtd), Senator Oluremi Tinubu, National Coordinator of Oodu’a People’s Congress (OPC), Gani Adams, The Ife Kingdom Traditional Council of Kings led by Oba Adeoye Adefarakan, Oloyere of Iyere Ife, and Mrs. Josephine Anini from Edo state.

In the words of YCE chairman, Mama HID Awolowo’s contribution to the unity of Yorubaland was indescribable while she lived a remarkable life worthy of emulation.

General Adebayo (rtd) further described the life of late HID Awolowo as a lesson to the people on how to live a good life.
