Managing Director of Heritage Bank, Mr. Ifie Sekibo, in Lagos on Tuesday, pledged the banks support to the tune of N200million for the National Youth Corps Service (NYSC) Skill Acquisition and Entreprenurship Development (SAED) programme.

Receiving the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier Joseph Olawumi  at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos during a courtesy visit , Mr Sekibo promised Heritage Bank’s cooperation with the NBYSC SAED programme, contending that the bank had an emotional attachment to the scheme.

He stated that they had enough resource persons to drive and help corps members become whatever they aspire to be now and in the future.

Sekibo called for collaborations at all levels of the programmes of NYSc that would make Nigerian youths better citizens who fend for themselves and be job creators.

Earlier, the NYSC DG explained that his mission at the bank was to seek for additional support for the SAED programme in the area of takeoff capital with minimal after acquisition of skills.

He explained that the NYSC had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bank of Industry, contending that an earlier interface with the Central Bank Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele prompted his visits to individual banks for more cooperation.

Brigadier-General Olawumi who appealed to banks for low interest rates expressed appreciation for the banks absorption of 30 corps members on its payroll and assured that beneficiaries of the loan would not default.
