Heartland Shocks Enyimba In Owerri

Heartland Football Club of Owerri, on Sunday, shocked league leaders, Enyimba International of Aba, in an oriental derby. The host scored in the 40th minute and 65th minute while Enyimba got its goal at the dot of the first half.

The defeat meant the leader’s hold on the top of the table was cut to three points, as Warri Wolves, on Saturday, defeated visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure by three unreplied goals from Gbolahan Salami.

Also on Saturday, homers, Abia Warriors, held visiting Rangers of Enugu 3-3. The match, which was played with so much frenzy, saw the home side trailing for most of the encounter.

In other matches, Nasarawa United defeated visiting Lobi Stars of Makurdi 1-0. IfeanyiUba compounded the woes of Dolphins of Port Harcourt, as it held the Port Harcourt side 0-0 in Port Harcourt.

Shooting Stars was also held 0-0 by visiting Bayelsa United in Ibadan, just as Giwa FC were held 0-0 by Kano Pillars in Jos.

Kwara United, meanwhile, regained its winning form, as it defeated Akwa United 2-1 in Ilorin. In Bauchi, Wikki Tourists won the northern derby between it and FC Taraba 1-0, while El-Kanemi Warriors was 2-0 winner in the match between it and Sharks of Port Harcourt in its adopted home, Katsina.
