The All Progressive Congress (APC) administration in Niger State has explained that, contrary to claims of not being prepared for governance, it was taking its time to ensuring that Nigerlites got the best in the area of dividends of democracy.

The position of the state government is coming against the backdrop of criticisms that the APC administration was slow in taking off with the appointments of only four key functionaries: Secretary to State Government, Chief of Staff, Head of Service and Chief Press Secretary.

Apart from the appointment of the four key functionaries which was greeted with criticisms for its reported gender, religious, and tribal biases, the Sani Bello administration is said to have been talking more than taking actions.

Chief Press Secretary to Governor Bello, Dr. Ibraheem Dooba, in an interview, said it was too early for anyone to criticize or cast aspersions on the administration, noting that it was less than two months the administration started.

The Chief Press Secretary explained that the possible reasons why the APC administration had been accused of moving at a slow pace may have been because the State Executive Council was yet to be constituted.

He attributed the trend to the dearth of funds.
