Some Hausa traders on Monday reportedly went on rampage as they engaged soldiers in a clash at the Mile 12 area of Lagos State thereby causing confusion in the area.

The rampaging traders were said to have gone wild at about 2 p.m. after soldiers sent them parking from their settlement at Ikorodu Road.

An eye-witness said trouble started when the soldiers, while on patrol in the area, tried to get rid of traders, who were selling their wares along the road, causing gridlock.

The Hausa traders were part of the “offenders”.

It was gathered that the traders in an attempt to resist the soldiers stared a fight.

The eye-witness said the clash between the soldiers and the Hausa traders that lasted for about an hour caused so much confusion that people in the area scampered in different direction for safety.

It was learnt that the rampaging traders stopped commuters from boarding the Bus Rapid Transit scheme, BRT during the protest.
