Sunshine Stars of Akure this weekend has another opportunity to maintain its lead on the table as it hosts epileptic and bottom-placed FC Taraba in one the Week 19 fixtures at the Akure Township Stadium.

The Akure gunners suffered a heavy defeat to six-time champions, Enyimba at midweek Week 18 encounter at Aba Township Stadium, but still retained the top spot on goals difference.

One factor that has been working for the Akure according to analysts is side remained consistency which also has to be maintained as they host Taraba, having in mind that in football it is not over until it is over.

This implies Sunshine coach, Kennedy Boboye, must avoid the technical errors reports say cost his side the defeat it suffered at Enyimba.

According to pundits, Boboye affected a rash of substitutions early in the second half in an attempt to hurl his side back into the contest but a second yellow card to defender, Adebayo Adigun snuffed out any hope of a comeback.

However, there is only a slim hope for Taraba to get a good result at Sunshine this weekend if the side’s home invincibility is anything to go by as they have not lost any game in Akure.

In Makurdi during Week 18 fixtures, Taraba failed to take advantage of playing before its teeming fans and only settle for a 1-1 draw against Heartland.
