Gunmen Kidnap Journalist In Imo

A gang of gun-totting youths have abducted Mr. Tope Kutiyi, a correspondnt with Channels Television, from his home in Imo State.

The kidnappers took him early Monday from his residence at the Federal Housing Estate, Umuguma, Imo State, and his whereabouts have remainedunknown since then.

There has been no communication from the kidnappers, at the time of filing this report.

Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, Chief Press Secretary, to the Governor, said, “The young man is only a reporter who cannot be said to have been kidnapped because of money.

“Only those behind the act know why they decided to inconvenience the reporter and his family.

“Those holding the reporter should please release him to reunite with his family.”

Also,  Mr. Taiwo Lakanu, Imo State Commissioner of Police, confirming the kidnap, said the command was investigating the matter to nail those behind the crime.
