Pep Guardiola is poised to continue his perfect start in the league and win his fifth win when Manchester City hosts Bournemouth today. City recorded one of the biggest win of the seasdon last Saturday beating neighbours, United 2-1 at Old Traford.

Striker Sergio Aguero is out of this game as he continues his domestic suspension and Kelechi Iheanacho, who has scored nine goals from just 13 shots on target is expected to start today.

Midfielder David Silva is unlikely to return after missing the midweek win over Borussia Monchengladbach but Guardiola is yet to decide whether Ilkay Gundogan will continue in his place. The German impressed against Borussia but that was his first game following a five-month lay-off with a knee injury.

Captain Vincent Kompany, out since April with a thigh injury, is close to fitness but Guardiola will not risk him this weekend.

Eddie Howe has no fresh injury or suspension concerns as Bournemouth travel to the Etihad with a fully-fit squad but loanee Jack Wilshere is expected to start on the bench as he builds his fitness.

Callum Wilson is believed to be in the starting XI after scoring against West Brom, his first goal since coming back from an injury which kept him sidelined of the majority of last season.

Manchester City won both of their Premier League meetings with Bournemouth last season by a four goal margin (5-1 at home in October 2015, 4-0 away in April 2016).These defeats were the Cherries’ joint-heaviest in the Premier League in their inaugural season, also losing 5-1 to Spurs in October 2015.
