Asaba – Leaders, elders and stakeholders under the umbrella of Save Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isoko South Local Government Area, have protested to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to resolve the lingering imposition of candidates on the party during the last party congresses.

They resolved not to recognise the Mr. Ralph Odorewu-led executive in the LG and few other ward executive members except Engr. Utho Godwin led executive until the governor carries out harmonisation in the party.

Rising from an enlarged meeting of ‘Save PDP Group’ in Oleh, Isoko South, the group warned Governor Ifeanyi Okowa against fraternising with some of his appointees from Isoko South who have succeeded in creating disunity in the party.

Coordinator of the group, Chief Dickson Ebegbare, called on Governor Okowa to urgently look into the imposition of candidates in the LG and wards executives of the party and the impunity been perpetrated in the party by some  appointees from the area.

The group said, ‘’should Governor Okowa allow the impunity which he is fully aware of to continue in the party in Isoko South, the fate of the party will be in jeopardy in the 2019 general elections.’’

The group also called on the governor to quickly address some of the lingering issues that have bedeviled the party as a result of the congresses just as the group has resolved to sustain the agitation until the Governor calls for harmony

The group admonished all party faithful to remain calm and put the interest of the party at heart at all times while effort is been made to rescue the party from the hands of interlopers.

“Isoko south PDP family says no to impunity. Giving appointments to party members is to win more souls not sending away party faithful, not creating troubles for the party and not doing things with impunity.

“We believe that Governor Okowa as a listening person will act but in case he pays deaf ears and allows the impunity to continue, the leaders and elders of the party in Isoko South shall meet and take a firm decision and he knows what that means,’’ he stated.
