Izon-Ibe Global Policy Network, (IGPN), a pan-Ijaw group, has given kudos to the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Amnesty Programme, General Paul Boroh, for eliminating corruption in the programme, which had hitherto hampered the development of oil-producing areas of the country.

President of IGPN, Hon. Ogidigba Godstime,  in a statement, at the weekend, also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore calls by some persons to sack Boroh, who he said has been doing a great job to give the programme a human face, as those behind such calls are enemy of the South-South Region.

According to the group, “We are impressed with how far Boroh has eliminated corruption from the management of the amnesty programme and, therefore, are not surprised that corruption is trying desperately to fight back, as the programme is no longer business as usual.

“We advice President buhari to damn all agitators against Gen. Boroh and treat them as enemies of progress and apostles of corruption.

“We also appeal to all stakeholders in the Niger Delta to co-operate with Boroh in his effort at restoring sanity and discipline to the Niger Delta region, for the overall prosperity of Nigeria.”
