The Coalition for Social Change (CSC) has commended the choice of former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, as the Minority Leader of the Senate; the non-governmental organisation described it as “a recognition of his selfless service to the nation, his state and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”

The group is set to host the senator, representing Akwa Ibom North West (Ikot Ekpene) District in the National Assembly, in a reception for his meritorious service to the state.

Speaking to newsmen in his office in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the president of the CSC, Joseph Utin, disclosed that his group, comprising several NGOs, considered it expedient to honour Akpabio, who he described as the architect of the Uncommon Transformation Programme, with infrastructural renaissance, massive road construction, urban renewal and redevelopment and rural transformation in Akwa Ibom.

The CSC said the event would hold on August 8, 2015 in Uyo.
