Benin – Ahead of the September 10 governorship election in Edo, a socio-cultural group under the aegis of Edo-Okpa Vanguard on Thursday described the political marginalisation of the people of Edo Central Senatorial District of the state as injustice of the highest order.

In statement issued by Mr Peters Evbota, national coordinator of the group, in Benin, the group alleged that it was the turn of the district to produce the next governor of the state.

It would be recalled that both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have zoned their governorship slots to the Edo South senatorial district of the state.

Edo-Okpa Vanguard, which said the political imbalance in the state Would be resisted by the people of Esan land also revealed that “ our group is mobilizing stakeholders and Esan aspirant to a town hall meeting in Irrua to find a way to actualize the Edo central governorship agenda”.

Evbota said the meeting which will hold on Saturday in Irrua, will seek to drive the idea of an Esan governor which he said, is their right.
