Globacom Limited (GLO) is a Nigerian multinational telecommunications company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. It started operations on August 29, 2003 and currently operates in four West Africa countries, namely: Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.

The company has soared high in its aspiration to build Africa’s biggest and best telecommunications network with millions of subscribers in Nigeria, Republic of Benin and Ghana.

Globacom has made history as the first company to build a high-capacity submarine fibre-optic cable, popularly known as Glo-1, the first successful submarine cable from the United Kingdom to Nigeria with the attendant high increase in internet speeds and download rates with resultant significant improvements in online technologies.

It has played, and continues to play significant roles in the social and community development in Nigeria. Examples include its sponsorship of the national football teams and the Premier League in Nigeria.

Globacom, the title sponsor of the annual Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards since 2005, is also the benefactor of the Glo Lagos International Half Marathon.
