Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)  Technical Committee, Felix Anyansi Agwu, has charged Flying Eagles players to approach the Round of 16 tie against Germany on Thursday as if it is the final.

He warned that Germany would be tough, if not tougher than Brazil consideringthat it is Europe’s best and known for its resilience r in the field of play.

The Germans topped group F with 9 points, scoring 16 goals and conceded just two; 8-1 against Fiji, 3-0 against Uzbekistan and 5-1 against Honduras.

Nigeria stumbled against Brazil 4-2 but shook off the setback to beat North Korea 4-0 and Hungary 2-0, scoring eight goals and conceding four.

“Germany will be tough, it is one of the good teams that came for the tournament and is there an as European champion. But you can be sure that our boys are ready to play the game of their lives. If they do that, I am sure they will overcome.”

Anyansi explained that the opening group game loss to Brazil may be a blessing in disguise, going into Thursday’s cracker.

He maintained that both players and officials of the team must have learnt valuable lesson noting that the entire squad now knows that that there no room for complacency or selection error against a German side.

He opined that had the 4-2 loss against Brazil not happened when it did, the players may now been thinking that they were unbeatable.

“That early result has helped in avoiding the shocker that results from a complacent attitude,” adding that there was nothing wrong for the crew to start Kelechi Iheanacho, who he said had now bonded with the rest of the squad.
