The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) a socio-cultural organisation in the Northern part of the country has appealed to the federal government to end the ongoing scarcity of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) across the country.
The fuel scarcity which started some weeks ago has paralysed economic activities in the country. It has also led to increase in the cost of transportation across the country.
The National Chairman of ACF, Ibrahim Coomasie who said the ongoing scarcity is giving bad image to the government urged Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum and Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to look at the causes of the scarcity and address them urgently.
He said, “The ongoing scarcity of petrol has brought untold hardship to Nigerians and it is better the hardship is brought to an end as soon as possible. I spent a lot of money to buy the product when I am travelling”
The former Inspector General of Police stated that the scarcity has caused a lot of motorists to spend a lot of money before they can buy the product.
